ABOUT
Hi, I’m Rob Masefield [r:m], a photographer and designer from Brisbane, Australia.
I’ve always been interested in people, places and the online world, and I’m lucky enough that these interests have steered me towards a career that I truly love.
When I finished my Business degree at the Queensland University of Technology I worked in advertising for a stint before spending three years in London, UK. With Europe on the doorstep, the inevitable travel bug bit me and I had the chance to develop my interest in photography in some truly stunning locations.
My passion for capturing wildlife, landscapes and travel-related moments has taken me to beautiful and exotic locations throughout the world including the UK, Western Europe, Ireland, South Africa, Japan, Fiji, New Zealand, USA, Canada, China & South America over the past decade.
British Columbia (BC) in Canada was a stand-out destination for me with its unparalleled natural beauty, so much so that I called beautiful Vancouver home for the past six years. Regular hiking and adventure trips into the BC interior, the Rockies and further north into the wilds of the Yukon have given me boundless visual inspirations to capture photographically and share with family in Australia, as well as others around the world.
Most recently I held the position of Creative Director for a web and software design company based on the north shore of Vancouver and I also work on freelance design and photographic jobs for clients in Canada and Australia.
I’ve shot exclusively with Canon equipment since 2001; currently I’m using the Canon 7D, Canon 40D and Canon G12 with a selection of telephoto, wide-angle and portrait lenses.
